Bukit Jambul East Bali Tourism Destination



Bukit Jambul (Jambul Hill) is located at the border between Pesaban Village and Nongan Village who are included Rendang District, Karangasem Regency. To reach Bukit Jambul from Klungkung Regency about 25 minute and 50 minute from Denpasar. Bukit Jambul is nature tourism destination has owned by Karangasem Regency, which is located at the top of hill so the surrounding weather is cool and comfortable. Such as other natural scenery in Karangasem Regency, Bukit Jambul also has fusion of natural landscape in panorama hills, rice fields, valleys and panoramic sea views. From the height of Bukit Jambul , tourists can be watched beauty of natural scenery that is very charming and enchanting. On side the weddings and uphill road we can see patches of terraced rice (terracing) and cloves trees are growing fertile in this hill. From east side will be seen the towering hill that were in Sidemen area and at South will looked rice field and surrounding Klungkung Regency, as well as at a distance were scenes of sea of southern of Klungkung Regency.


As a tourism area, Bukit Jambul was completed with a large parking area and there is a restaurant. Bukit Jambul is also as the resting place so often visited by local and foreign tourist to be traveled to Besakih Temple or when they are return from Besakih Temple. Generally, tourist who stops here for lunch and drink also resting for relax, they are can also enjoy natural scenery of Bukit Jambul which is calm and cool atmosphere. Tourists often who stop take some picture of natural scenery of Bukit Jambul.

According to information from local people in Pesaban Village, Bukit Jambul was known since the Dutch colonial period in Indonesia, where the name was given by tourist who visits. The name is taken from towering hill was located in the south of the road between Klungkung and Besakih. At the top of hill there is a temple is called Puncak Sari Temple.  Around Puncak Sari Temple areas overgrown by big and dense trees. Under Puncak Sari Temple there are rice field from local people that are heavily forested and the hilltop looks like a crested (Jambul). So, the temple is located at the top hill is Ulun Carik Temple which guarded by local farmers. Before was named Jambul Hill, the environmental rice field to the south of the highway is called Babad Kelod. Whereas upland areas and rice field in northern highway is called Babakan Kaja. Therefore, with presence of the hill that look like crested(Jambul) and now is tourists attraction then over time the area known as  Bukit Jambul (Jambul Hills).http://www.balisurfadvisor.com/
